SPECIES SEEN

From 01/04/10 to 01/10/10 ~  67

Sixty-eight species found along the trail this week, and included in this report.  There were 11 other species seen at Santa Gertrudis Lane by other birders.  The species not in this report included, Varied Thrush, Yellow-shafted Flicker, Rose-throated Becard, Inca and Ruddy Ground-dove, Merlin, Northern Beardless-tyrannulet, Plumbeous Vireo, Townsend's Solitaire, Painted Redstart, and Rufous-backed Robin.  Other than the wonders of Santa Gertrudis Lane, most notable was the Loggerhead Shrike, south of Bridge Rd.  Most of the ducks were found by taking the liberty of walking across a pasture at the golf resort and viewing the ponds in front of the club house.  If there is anything to complain about, it is the absence of warblers, other than yellow-rump's.
